Dr. Kierce has been passionately motivated to bring a human element to psychological health and the community. She was tired of judgmental societal standards of psychotherapy and distressed by the lack of accessibility. She was a child in a family that needed a good psychologist. She was a first-generation college graduate. She lived below the poverty line for years while in school and struggled to find creative ways to access healthcare. She spent over a decade in her own psychotherapy because she believes in the process, values understanding herself, and thinks it is essential to understand treatment from a patient’s perspective. She made her own path. And now she has made it her mission to help others find theirs.
Dr. Kierce values education and training, diverse perspectives and people, and healing from the deepest part of oneself. Her approach reflects her varied professional training and experiences, as well as personal endeavors such as psychoanalysis, international travel, and living in various parts of the United States. Over time, these experiences have coalesced into a blend of school psychology, clinical psychology, psychoanalytic treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, and work with people across the lifespan from diverse cultures.
Drawing on Dr. Kierce’s work as a school psychologist in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, she recognizes that growth and healing require a village of support. Consequently, her services are accessible, inviting, and seamlessly connected with auxiliary providers and treatments. She prioritizes community connections to ensure efficient support outside of her office and to facilitate a holistic approach to well-being.
Many of Dr. Kierce’s patients have been with her for years. Through the ups and downs of life, being on the journey with those who enter her space has been a profoundly meaningful and rewarding part of her life. She, too, evolves and grows in these shared experiences. She is excited for the future and for those who will join her on the journey!
